Unknown Facts About Mahabharath | Part 2

Except for those characters who would choose wrong paths for their needs, There are no heroes and villains in this play! Maybe we cannot tell Mahabharata better than this in a single line, At the end of the Mahabharata, the best life-lesson that we learn from it is, There are no such people as good people or bad people. Except, there would be only good circumstances and bad circumstances. I would tell you how. Listen. Antecedently, all the vedas existed as one. Vyasa had divided them into four parts. That is the reason they call him Veda Vyasa. After the partition of Vedas, one day when he was sleeping peacefully, Some visuals appeared in his mind that some catastrophe was about to happen. He woke up immediately. Those visuals disturbed him a lot. To know what was about is to happen, He went into penance and did time-travel into the future. He went into the timeline of those visuals that appeared in his mind. But to his surprise, he was lying in the middle of a huge battle field. Everywhere, there were sounds of swords. The sky was filled with arrrows. The ground was totally covered with blood. Nuclear bombs were exploding. To know what it was, he went into the sky, above the clouds and looked below, The visual made him realise the intensity of death. The ongoing war was the war that never happened in the entire history. He felt that he wouldn't able see such a thing in a lifetime. There was war happening till where his eyes could see. The size of the army in the war is, 4,00,000 elephants. 5,00,000 chariots. 12,00,000 horses. 22,00,000 soldiers. The war was so terrifying that it felt like entire human race would be perish by the end of the war. And the more surprising thing is that, The war was happening due to the heirs of Vyasa. He was surprised how that was possible because he was a bachelor. He decided to write it in detail about what was going on. That too, before the story happened. But by staying in the future and watching everything, Thinking that it is impossible for him to write the story as it is, Writing parallelly what's being dictated along with the inclusion of his experiences, Another person should be there to write what I dictate. But when searched for the person with such ability, Only one person with such ability was found in the entire realms. He was none other than Lord Ganesha. Immediately he invoked him with his power of meditation and said, "Ganesha, I would time-travel and reach future." "And I will tell you everything that is about to happen over there" Though my mind is in the future, my body remains here "I will witness everything over there and tell you here". "I could see everyone over there but they can't see me." "So you have to write word by word whatever I dictate", he asked. The special capability of Ganesha is that, The rate at which the words come out of the mouth, He could write at the same speed parallelly. For example, if we ask anybody to write, Suppose if we say Mahabharata and look at his paper, He would have already written 'Maha' and we would observe him write 'Bharata'. But Ganesha is so fast that, If we dictate anything, by the time we look at his paper, he would have already written it. That is the reason, Vyasa had selected him. However, when Vyasa wrote the Mahabharata, Mahabharata did not actually happen. He had written the story that was about to happen. Vyasa started the naration of the story. When he said that this story begins with the emperor Pratipa. Ganesha said, "Emperor Pratipa is your grandfather, right? "Are you also part of this story", he asked Then Vyasa told him, "Ganesha, please write only what I tell you" "Kindly, do not ask any doubts", he said. Similarly, I am requesting you, Kindly listen to the Mahabharata story that I tell you, thinking that it has moral value Don't ask me logics and scientific proofs and put skeptical faces. This is the small request that I have. Emperor Pratipa had 3 sons. The elder son's name was Devapi. He didn't have any desire towards kingdom, wealth and power. To lead the spiritual life, he had left for the Himalayas. He saw a beautiful city over there. That is Shambhala city. At the end of Kaliyuga, the Kalki avatar would come from Shambala. However, Devapi is also immortal. He would be alive till the end of Kaliyuga. And the second son's name is Bahlika He left his kingdom during his childhood and was brought up in his uncle's kingdom. Lastly, the most significant son was Shantanu. Who was the son of Pratipa? Shantanu. Ok. Remember this. One day when Pratipa was in meditation near a river bank, A woman, Ganga, who stayed there saw him and fell in love with him. Pratipa had broad shoulders and aura with the body of a warrior. She came and sat on his right thigh. When Partipa opened his eyes, he saw a most beautiful damsel sitting on his thighs. Then Ganga asked, "O king, I like you very much" "You shall fulfil my wish", she said. Pratipa replied, "Knowingly or unknowingly you have sat on my right thigh" "The position of the left thigh of a male is dedicated to the wife" "Similarly the position of the right thigh is dedicated to the female heir in the family". "It means that you are equivalent to my daughter" "I cannot fulfill your wish", he said. She replied, "You seem like a king." "If a woman approaches a man to fulfil her wish, it is his duty to fulfil it" "Would you deny your duty", she asked. Then Pratipa said, "Look, I have a son, Shantanu, with same features of mine and looks more handsome. "I would send him to you", he said and left. The next day, Shantanu met Ganga. As soon as he saw her, he fell in love with her on the first sight itself. He fell for her beauty and asked her to marry him. Then Ganga replied, "I would marry you but on one condition". "Whatever I do, you should not stop me or question me." "If you ever try to stop me or question me, I would leave you", she said. He thought what might a woman do after becoming a wife. She would either spend the wealth or donate it. And thinking that he had infinite wealth, he accepted her condition and married her. They both were so happy. After an year, a son was born as a symbol of their love. She took her son into her hands with joy and took him to a river and threw him in it. Shantanu, who was beside, was shocked and did not utter a single word. He was so angry that he wanted to ask her why she threw away their son. But as he remembered his promise that he gave her and he stopped. The next year another son was born but she did the same thing. In this way she killed 7 sons. Unable to do anything Shantanu was broken from inside. Later, eight son was born. When she was about to do the same thing, Shantanu couldn't hold his anger and asked her, "Ganga, I wouldn't accept to slay even this child". "I am a king and my kingdom needs an heir". "Why do you keep doing that?", he asked. Then Ganga replied, "These 8 children were disciples of sage, Vasishta in their previous life." "Due to their terrible mistake, Vasishta had cursed them that," "If they were born as humans and die, they would attain liberation" "Hence I did this." "However, as you have broken your vow I am deserting you from today". "And also, since you have forbidden me I wouldn't slay this son," "I would raise him and return him to you after he grows", she said this and left. After a few years, when Shantanu was going on his chariot at this river bank, He could hear the some continuous weird sounds. To know what it was, he went towards the direction of the sounds, There, he saw a 16-year old boy, Who was shining with his charismatic looks, And by placing the bow towards the river, he was pulling the arrows so rapidly. The sound of the bow was what he heard. When he looked to know on whom he was aiming those arrows, The arrows were aimed towards the river that was in front of him and formed a bridge. And the flow of the river was stopped. Shantanu was surprised by the heroic act of the boy. When he asked him whose son he was, a woman came and claimed him to be her son. She was none other than Ganga. It meant that he was the son of Shantanu. His name was Devavrata. Devavrata was taught the art of war by Parashurama. And he was educated by Vasishta. He was a terrific warrior, brave man and a scholar. Who is the son of Shantanu? Devavrata. Thinking that he was the perfect heir and successor to his kingdom, Shantanu took him to his kingdom. After a few days, when Shantanu took a detour around his kingdom, He saw a fisherwoman and fell in love. He went near her and asked her to marry him. She told him to ask her father regarding the same thing and she left. The name of that fisherwoman was Satyavati. Shantanu went to Satyavati's father and asked him to marry his daughter to him. His father replied, "I wouldn't marry my daughter to you". "My daughter's children wouldn't be able to become the rulers in any way". "On top of that, they have to serve your son, Devavrata, their entire life." "I don't want my grandchildren to have such life.", he said and rejected his proposal. What happened after that? Did Shantanu get married to Satyavati? The reason for the Mahabharata to happen was, Many people believe that it was either Draupadi's laugh or Duryodhana's ego. How true is that? Why did Satyavati ask to unite with the younger brother's wives and have kids? We shall discuss those topics in the next episode.
